FRANKFORT - May 10, 2005
Betsie River slow all year. Only one good run. Everyone catching drop-back fish now. Lots of small Steelhead in the river and around the pier heads. Should have a really good year in 2007. Some Browns being taken at the pier heads, but slow.

Good Walleye reports coming from the mouth of Portage Lake. Good Walleye in Manistee at night at the pier heads.

Crystal Lake - jumbo perch, but very spotty. Not many boats fishing yet. Should pick up in the next week or so.

LONG LAKE - MAY 10, 2005
Everyone doing good on the Walleyes. Bobbers and leaches best. A little warmer water at the south end of lake in some of the bays, producing better. Heard good report about using jigs and minnows in 20' of water, working the jig up the bank just before dark. Should get steadily better throughout the month.
